NEWS:
- We are growing! The Boston Conservatory at Berklee has joined forces with the Berklee Staff Union! We have integrated the BCB and BCM leadership which brings numbers, knowledge, and momentum to our campaign.
- We have collected demands and formulated talking points for organizing conversations and negotiations when the time comes.
- Leadership has met with Studio Operations, who are represented by IBEW, to learn about Berklee’s negotiating tactics. An offer of $0.15/hr (yes, fifteen cents per hour) for every two (yes, 2) years of service to the school (a raise of ~$300/yr) is not a good-faith offer that respects our time, talent, and skill. IBEW has been fighting for Studio Operations reasonable demands for over a year now, and it is clear to us that Berklee is continuing to leverage minimal, meaningless change over any substantive progress.

Where We Started:
Between May 2024 and December 2024, many of us were contacted by colleagues to gauge our interest in creating a staff union. A majority of staff who were contacted expressed interest and support in a staff union, and a core group began an organizing committee (OC). The staff union partnered with the AFT (American Federation of Teachers), with support from the Berklee Faculty Union, and Studio Operations (represented by IBEW).In 2025 leadership began outlining the demands of the staff union based on feedback from our workplace issue form.
